Over the past two years, more than 200 asylum applications of
Jehovah´s Witnesses from Russia have been received by the finnish
authorities.The Jehovah's Witnesses are an
international religious organization that Russia banned in 2017. The
Finnish Migration Service has rejected the majority of the asylum
applications of Russian Jehovah's Witnesses because it does not
consider the ban to be a real threat to members of the group in
their home country. That´s why only 10% of the 250 applicants for
asylum received a positive feedback.
