Finland: 5G revolution

Mobile phone users in Tampere, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia's capital, were the first to
connect to a fifth-generation mobile network. The first 5G network in Europe was created
in 2018. Until now, 181 5G pilot networks have been reported in 23 European countries.
5G network was the basic theme of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona where
5G smartphones, 5G cars and 5G firefighting drones were some of the most exciting
tech innovations. The new technology can be 100 times faster than the 4G.

A problem that concerns the mobile phone industry itself is the way the benefits of 5G
should be explained to consumers so that they will be willing to accept higher costs.
Switching to 5G networks in Europe entails a cost of half a trillion euros. In Finland,
a pioneer in the field of mobile networks, a 5G data plan costs 50 euros per month.
5G is the technology of the future and a major revolution in communication networks
that will change the lives of its users.
